Actor Andrei Merzlikin spoke in detail for the first time about how his life changed after his divorce from Anna Osokina, with whom he lived for nearly two decades. The couple had four children during their marriage — Fyodor, Serafima, Evdokia, and Makari. After the separation, all of them remained living with their father.
In an interview with the publication "Karavan Istoriy," the 53-year-old artist confirmed that he took on the main responsibility for raising the children. He emphasized that he does not intend to go into details about the breakup.
"Unfortunately, our relationship as spouses with Anna has come to an end. I don’t want to discuss this in detail — for me, this topic is still closed. But it happens. Life goes on. Anna is now in a new relationship and lives outside of Russia," Merzlikin said.
According to the actor, the decision to keep the children with him was a conscious one and, in his opinion, the most correct.
"I took on this responsibility. For us, it’s a way to keep the family together — albeit in a different format. This is a new stage of inner growth and at the same time a great joy: the children are nearby, and for me, that’s the most important thing," he noted.
Earlier, the media reported that the couple's divorce was officially finalized in the summer. After that, the children stayed with their father, while Anna Osokina returned to her work as a psychologist and went abroad. In her social media, she emphasized that she does not want to discuss the reasons for the separation and asked to respect their family's personal boundaries.
