Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lerchek, published a video from her hospital room. The clip appeared on social media thanks to her partner Luis Squicciarini, who is by her side during her treatment.
It was previously reported that Chekalina has been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. Since March 13, she has been undergoing chemotherapy at one of the cancer centers in Moscow.
In the video, the blogger admitted that her health is her top priority right now. She also noted that she feels relief due to the suspension of the criminal case, but the main focus remains on fighting the illness.
"Right now, the most important thing is health. I’m glad that I can concentrate on it. Thank you all for your support and prayers — it really helps," Chekalina said.
She confirmed her diagnosis and, unable to hold back her emotions, added that she intends to fight until the end: "I really want to live — and I will live." At that moment, Luis approached her and hugged her.
According to available information, the disease was detected only after the birth of her fourth child. The blogger has been found to have metastases. There are also reports of possible vision problems that have arisen due to the illness.
Valeria's youngest son was born during her relationship with Luis Squicciarini. Her three older children — a son and twins — were born during her marriage to her ex-husband Artem Chekalin. Currently, the children are with their father while Valeria undergoes treatment.
