Singer Prokhor Shalyapin commented on rumors about an inheritance after the death of his wife — Canadian millionaire Tatiana-Klaudia Davis. The artist stated that after her passing in 2021, he received neither property nor money.
Marriage to Tatiana Davis
Prokhor Shalyapin married entrepreneur Tatiana-Klaudia Davis in 2021. The woman was 23 years older than the artist and was engaged in business in Canada.
Their relationship was actively discussed in the media. After the wedding, rumors emerged that Tatiana might have transferred real estate or other assets to her husband. Some commentators even accused the singer of selfish motives.
However, according to Shalyapin, such assumptions are not true.
Why the Artist Did Not Inherit
In an interview with the publication "Karavan Istoriy," the singer revealed that his marriage to Tatiana Davis was concluded in Las Vegas and was accompanied by the signing of a prenuptial agreement.
According to the artist, the document fully regulated property issues and deprived him of the right to claim his wife's fortune.
"The only truly wealthy woman is my wife Tatiana Davis, from whom I asked for nothing. And I did not inherit anything at all. Because our marriage was concluded in Las Vegas, with all that entails. Moreover, she made me sign a prenuptial agreement. They have somewhat different laws there; I had no rights to anything," Shalyapin said.
The Singer's Own Property
The artist also emphasized that all the property he owns today was acquired by him independently.
He stated that for many years he had to take out a mortgage to purchase housing. He bought his first apartment in Moscow about five years ago.
Shalyapin recalls that at that time, the apartment, which was about 52 square meters, seemed to him a real achievement.
"Everything I have is earned by me. There were often mortgages on some properties, which I paid off early," the singer noted.
Gift for His Mother
Recently, the artist also purchased an apartment in Moscow for his mother. Before that, she had lived for a long time in Volgograd — the singer's hometown.
According to Shalyapin, buying housing for his mom was an important event for him and one of his main achievements in recent years.
Conclusion
Thus, the artist refuted rumors of a large inheritance after the death of his millionaire wife. According to him, he acquired all his assets independently, and the prenuptial agreement signed before the wedding excluded the possibility of claiming Tatiana Davis's property.
