You can hang a picture on the wall without a drill, nails, and noticeable holes. There are alternative fastening methods that allow you to securely fix decor while keeping the wall surface almost undamaged. The choice of the appropriate method depends on the type of covering and the weight of the picture.
Spider Hook
One of the most popular solutions is the special spider hook. This is a small fastener with several thin nails that are carefully driven into the wall.
These hooks come in various sizes and can hold a load of about 2 to 9 kg. They are suitable for wallpaper, drywall, and some other surfaces. After removal, only small holes remain on the wall.
Paper Clip
For lightweight frames or photographs, a regular paper clip can be used. It is bent so that one part acts as a hook, while the other is hidden under the wallpaper.
First, a small cross-shaped cut is made, the wallpaper is carefully separated from the wall, the clip is inserted, and it is fixed with glue. After the glue dries, the picture can be hung on the resulting hook.
Push Pin for Lightweight Frames
Another simple option is a push pin. The pin's leg is bent with pliers, turning it into a small hook.
This method is suitable for the lightest items, such as photographs, posters, or calendars.
Double-Sided Tape
On smooth surfaces—such as wood, MDF, or painted panels—strong double-sided tape can be used.
Before attaching, the surface is cleaned of dust and degreased. Strips of tape are glued to the back of the frame, after which the picture is pressed tightly against the wall for a few minutes.
Wall Fasteners
For ceramic tiles, panels, or other smooth surfaces, special wall Velcro fasteners are suitable.
These fasteners work on the principle of textile Velcro: one part is fixed to the wall, and the other to the picture frame. Depending on the model, they can hold from 1 to 8 kg.
Alternative Method—Wine Cork
Sometimes craftsmen use an unusual solution—a wine cork. It is cut in half and glued to the wall with epoxy glue, and then a small self-tapping screw is screwed into the cork, on which the picture is hung.
How to Choose the Right Option
Experts note that the optimal fastening method primarily depends on the wall surface and the weight of the decor.
Spider hooks and office supplies are suitable for wallpaper, Velcro and tape for smooth panels, and for heavy frames, it is better to choose more reliable fasteners.
Most of these methods allow you to secure a picture with minimal marks on the wall and without using a drill.
