You Are Amplifying Your Anxiety: Psychologist Named Unexpected Causes

Residents of large cities face anxiety several times more often than people from small towns.

However, according to psychologist Alexander Loginov, in many cases we amplify this state with our daily habits. The specialist named the factors that most often increase the level of internal tension and irritability.

Large Amounts of Coffee

It is hard to imagine modern office life without coffee. Many admit that they literally cannot start the day without several cups, especially if it is strong espresso.

Alexander Loginov explains: coffee stimulates the production of adrenaline and cortisol — stress hormones. As a result, even in a calm environment, a person may feel unreasonable anxiety, internal tension, and a rapid heartbeat.

Constant Contact with a Smartphone

A gadget in hand has become a habitual extension of a person. The problem begins when it is impossible to spend even 10–15 minutes without checking social media.

According to the psychologist, a mechanism of constant comparison with others — more successful, beautiful, and wealthy — is triggered. This causes a whole range of negative emotions: from irritation to a sense of personal inadequacy. Gradually, chronic tension is formed.

Low Sugar Levels

Hunger is not just an unpleasant sensation. When blood sugar levels drop, the body perceives the situation as stress.

People on strict diets often experience sharp fluctuations in sugar levels. The body "raises the alarm," which manifests as aggression, anxiety, and emotional instability.

Lack of Communication

Periods of solitude are necessary for everyone, but prolonged social isolation negatively affects mental health.

Alexander Loginov notes that communication with pleasant people increases dopamine levels — the pleasure hormone. Avoiding meetings with friends and loved ones can intensify feelings of anxiety and emotional exhaustion.

The specialist emphasizes: if anxiety becomes constant, it is important not only to eliminate external factors but also to learn to consciously relate to one’s habits and lifestyle.
