The Number of Plastic Surgeries Among Men Worldwide Has Nearly Doubled

Men still account for only 16% of the total number of consumers of cosmetic services.

Over the past decade, the number of plastic surgeries among men has nearly doubled. This data was presented at the annual congress of the aesthetic medicine industry, IMCAS, in Paris. Medical Xpress reports on this.

According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, from 2018 to 2024, the number of surgical interventions among men worldwide increased by 95 percent. The greatest interest in such procedures is observed among young men, as well as residents of the Middle East and Latin America, while men still account for only 16 percent of the total number of consumers of cosmetic services.

Non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including injections, laser therapy, and peels, showed an even more noticeable increase. During the same period, their number rose by 116 percent, while for women, the increase was 59 percent for surgeries and 55 percent for non-surgical procedures.

The United States leads in demand for plastic surgeries, accounting for about 45 percent of the global market in 2025, as well as 56 percent of global demand for Botox. It is expected that by 2030, the growth rate in the country will slow to about five percent per year, while in the Asia-Pacific region, the annual increase in cosmetic procedures is projected to be around seven percent.
