The Spanish prosecutor's office has begun an investigation into 82-year-old singer Julio Iglesias. The musician and father-in-law of tennis player Anna Kournikova are accused of sexual assault and beating former employees. The investigation, which lasted three years, was published by the portal El Diario.
The allegations were made by two women. The first victim, who identified herself as Rebecca, worked as a housekeeper at the artist's villas in 2021. She reported being coerced into sexual intimacy and physical abuse after consuming alcohol. According to the victim, Julio regularly asked her obscene questions and made inappropriate touches.
The second complainant, physiotherapist Laura, reported constant humiliation. She claims that Iglesias forced her to show her body and imposed kisses against her will. Both women describe the working conditions at Anna Kournikova's father-in-law's properties as complete isolation under strict control. Staff had limited access to communication devices.
Journalists from the portal interviewed 15 former employees of Julio Iglesias's estates in the Caribbean. Witnesses confirmed the victims' accounts. As evidence, press representatives collected medical reports, photographs, and archives of social media messages.
