The Christmas Prelude Sounded at the Riga Dome Cathedral 0

Last Saturday, December 6, the Dome Cathedral hosted one of the most anticipated and beloved winter musical events - the concert "Christmas Prelude," which has already become an unchanging pre-New Year tradition in Riga. Year after year, the organizers of this bright event gift Riga residents with new musical discoveries, filling the program with surprises and new participants.

This year, the concert featured: outstanding countertenor and baroque music performer Sergey Egers, world-renowned composer and organist Aivars Kalejs, bright soloists of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet - tenor Artem Safronov and soprano Inna Klochkо, talented pianist and winner of numerous international competitions Alexander Kalejs, vibrant and talented accordionist Anastasia Zubova, young virtuoso, 11-year-old pianist Gustavs Kalejs, the boys' choir of the Riga First Music School named after Jāzeps Mediņš under the direction of conductor Roman Vanags, and the star of the festive concert - opera diva Inessa Galante.

After the concert, a festive reception was held, organized by the "Inessa Galante Foundation" in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham Latvia).

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Riga City Council Viesturs Kleinbergs, Deputy Chairman of the Riga City Council Edwards Ratnieks, head of the Roman Catholic Church in Latvia Archbishop Metropolitan Zbignevs Stankevics, U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Christopher Robinson, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Latvia Noora Juma, representatives of the embassies of Austria, Italy, Estonia, and other countries, former advisor to ex-President of Latvia Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga on economic issues Sol Norman Bukingolts, President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Ivars Kalviņš, President of the American Chamber of Commerce John Martin Tully, heads and members of the chambers of commerce of the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia, as well as other significant representatives of the business, cultural, and public circles of Latvia and other countries.
