Dr. Jason Singh notes that a warm shower in the evening promotes the production of melatonin — the sleep hormone. While drying off with a towel, the body cools down to an optimal temperature, which helps to fall asleep more easily.

Additionally, an evening shower is particularly beneficial for dry skin, as it allows for hydration before sleep. However, a morning shower also makes sense — overnight, sweat and dead skin cells accumulate on the skin, causing unpleasant odors and discomfort.
