Illuminated Sculptures and Art Installations to Shine for the First Time in the Garden of the Horticultural Institute

From November 29 to December 21, the Dobele Horticultural Institute garden will transform for the first time into a special winter adventure – the Winter Garden, where nature, art, and light will meet.

This year, for the first time, guests will be able to appreciate the magic of the garden in winter, creating a soothing festive atmosphere after darkness falls. The winter garden will delight visitors with a variety of art objects and light installations – from monumental sculptures and light installations to thematic environmental accents.

"An especially impressive atmosphere will prevail on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings when the garden will be brightly illuminated to provide visitors with wonderful, emotion-filled experiences," promise the event organizers.

The Winter Garden route will feature works by renowned Latvian artists from Riga, Jaunpils, and Liepaja. Egons Pērsevičs, Aigars Bikše, Mara Lorberga, Toms Vitols, Andris Ratkevičs, and Nils Jumitis have agreed to exhibit their works. Several ecological and light installations will also make the garden special.

"The garden of the Horticultural Institute has always been vibrant and colorful throughout the year, and this year we want it to shine especially brightly in winter. Our garden will allow you to leisurely enjoy the light, art, and the tranquility of nature – it will become a warm meeting place in the dark season," emphasizes Inese Ebele, director of the Horticultural Institute.

A relaxation area with benches and tables will be set up in the courtyard near the shop, where visitors can purchase hot drinks, cocoa with marshmallows, as well as delicacies and souvenirs created by the scientists of the Horticultural Institute.

The garden will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and the light installations will be turned on on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 5:00 PM.

Admission is free.
