The city of Salerno in southern Italy has been recognized as the trendiest tourist destination to visit in 2026.
According to the latest report on 2026 Trending Destinations from Skyscanner, interest in this coastal city in the Campania region, which separates the popular Amalfi Coast from Cilento, has increased by 211% compared to last year.
"With its sea views and historic center, Salerno is a charming coastal city and an affordable alternative to the popular nearby Amalfi and Positano," the authors of the selection noted.
A total of ten tourist destinations have been included in the list, which are currently experiencing a surge in interest.
"Our travel experts analyzed the data and selected 10 destinations that have seen the largest increase in search queries year-on-year to help travelers feel the excitement before they become well-known," the report states.
