Beer-Marinated Meat with Vegetables: A Recipe for a Dish That Melts in Your Mouth

If you want to surprise your loved ones with something special, then juicy meat marinated in beer and then stewed with vegetables is exactly what can turn an ordinary dinner into a real celebration.

An unusual marinade makes the beef incredibly tender, fragrant, and literally "creamy" in taste. This dish can be served both as a main course at a family gathering and as an original treat for guests. The recipe was shared on the Cookrate page.

Thanks to fermentation, beer acts as a natural tenderizer for fibers. The drink adds a slight sweetness and caramel notes, and together with soy sauce, mustard, and paprika, beer creates the perfect balance of flavor.

For the marinade, a light lager or amber ale is best, as they enhance the meat's flavor without overpowering it.

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Beef (shoulder or tenderloin) 1.5 kg

  • Light beer 500 ml

  • Butter 100 g

  • Oil 100 ml

  • Onions 3 pcs.

  • Red bell pepper 1 pc.

  • Bacon 100 g

  • Garlic 15 g

  • Tomatoes 2 pcs.

  • Salt 1 tsp.

  • Ground black pepper ½ tsp.

  • Sweet paprika 1 tsp.

  • Mustard 3 tbsp.

  • Soy sauce 70 ml

  • Water 500 ml

  • Starch 40 g

  • Rosemary 10 g

  • Melted butter 100 g

Preparation

  • Mix the beer, soy sauce, mustard, spices, and minced garlic.

  • Place the pieces of meat in a deep bowl or jar, pour the marinade over them, and let them sit for 3-4 hours, or overnight in the refrigerator.

  • In a skillet, heat the oil with butter, and fry the meat until golden brown. Add the bacon and onions, and cook for a few more minutes.

  • Add the chopped pepper and tomatoes, pour in the water and part of the marinade, cover with a lid, and simmer for 1.5-2 hours on low heat.

  • At the end, dissolve the starch in water, pour it into the sauce, and bring it to a slight thickening.

  • Serve the meat with vegetables, drizzled with sauce, alongside aromatic potatoes.

Tips

  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add a bit of hot paprika or chili.

  • For a more tender option, you can use chicken or pork.

  • Do not overcook the meat to prevent it from becoming dry.

Beer-marinated meat with vegetables is a dish that combines ease of preparation with restaurant-level flavor. It will be a highlight of any table and is sure to please your loved ones.
