Ice is being applied to Android smartphones

Google smartphone users have started cooling their devices with ice.

Google Pixel users have been advised to apply their smartphones to ice to cool the devices. This was noted by the publication Android Authority.

In early spring, users of the Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphones began to complain about issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It is likely that the devices started losing connection due to overheating. Apparently, the problems began to arise after the release of the March Pixel Feature Drop update.

Complaints from smartphone owners were collected by a Reddit user with the nickname danillll2017. To reduce the level of abnormal overheating of the device, the author suggested turning off the device and applying an ice pack to it. He conducted an experiment and noticed that after such cooling, the Google phone began to work normally with wireless networks — until the next overheating.

The authors of Android Authority advised against cooling devices in this manner. "We do not recommend trying this, as water resistance ratings deteriorate over time, and you also increase the risk of condensation forming on the camera lens," the journalists stated. They advised waiting for Google to release a fixing update.
