Experts from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory predict in their Telegram channel that this may be the beginning of a prolonged 'depression'.

"The solar activity index has reached zero today — for the first time since April 2024. The star appears completely depleted. Everything looks like the beginning of a very long depression," the scientists write.

At the same time, researchers believe that a complete cessation of solar activity should not be expected — this phenomenon is temporary.
