Humanoid robots can most often be found on the railway.

At the moment when Xu Jian from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Eastern China, shook the mechanical hand of the robot "Fuxin" on the train, he suddenly realized that he was witnessing history. "I work in the field of robotics and have been familiar with humanoid robots for quite some time, but meeting one of them during 'Chunyun' on a train -- this is the first time it has happened to me!" he exclaimed, filming the event on his phone.

During the 'Chunyun' period (the season of special transportation system operations during the mass migration of the Chinese population before, during, and after the Spring Festival) in 2026, a group of "special conductors" -- humanoid robots -- began working at train stations, airports, and on trains across China, becoming a new highlight of this largest annual migration in the world.

From high-speed train carriages to airport terminals -- humanoid robots unexpectedly become part of Chinese people's journeys to their hometowns, bringing a vibrant technological touch to traditional festive trips.

At the East Railway Station in Hangzhou -- one of the main transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region -- the humanoid robot "Fuxin" in the form of a railway worker stood at the doors of a high-speed train carriage, greeting passengers by waving at them. This is the first robot conductor to join the Hangzhou Passenger Transport Service team this year.

After boarding the train G7511, "Fuxin" walked through the carriage, interacting with passengers on both sides -- shaking hands and waving back at them. Many passengers took out their phones to capture this "pleasant surprise" during their journey. According to train chief Che Feifei, in addition to simple interactions, "Fuxin" can also answer questions about train stop times, transfers, weather, and many other inquiries.

In the northern part of the country, on train T48 traveling from Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province, Northeastern China, to Beijing, two special performers appeared in the "New Year concert," which has been held for 20 consecutive years -- android robots became the center of attention, actively interacting with young passengers and allowing travelers to feel the pulse of technology in the atmosphere of the upcoming Chinese New Year.
