Developed by Hybrid Drones Limited, the HYDRA-400 is a new generation of super-heavy unmanned aerial vehicles that use a hybrid scheme: electric rotors for lift and micro-jet turbines for thrust and additional lift.

The HYDRA-400 is compact and mobile — it can be transported on a truck platform and assembled for flight in just a few minutes. The device can operate fully on electricity or in a hybrid configuration with two, four, or six turbines.

Created by a small team of British engineers, the HYDRA-400 is capable of lifting up to 400 kilograms while maintaining compact dimensions and mobility. The company claims that competitors in the heavy drone segment cannot offer a similar balance of payload capacity, cost, and portability.

Recently, the HYDRA-400 completed its first flight, during which the device demonstrated reliable control and the ability to transport stretchers, highlighting its potential for rescue and humanitarian operations in the future.
