Sweeney noted that RAM modules have increased in price by 50-100 percent over the past month and stated that high prices for technology will negatively impact video game development.

"The rise in RAM prices will be a serious problem for high-performance games for several more years," the entrepreneur noted. Tim Sweeney explained that DRAM manufacturers are reducing the production of gaming hardware to increase the production of chips for the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
