What Could This Mean? The 'Doomsday' Radio Station Played 'Swan Lake'

A whole concert has begun on the Russian military 'Doomsday' radio station following threats from Russia to strike Ukraine in response to the reported attack on Putin's residence.

In particular, a song based on 'The Bremen Town Musicians' is playing, with the lyrics 'we will return Donbass to the Russian people'.

'Swan Lake' was also played.

Radio Station UVB-76, known as 'The Buzzer' or 'Doomsday Radio Station', has been broadcasting since the 1970s on a frequency of 4625 kHz, mostly transmitting a repeating buzzing signal (marker) that repeats about 25 times per minute. Occasionally, the marker is interrupted by rare voice-coded messages in Russian. Sometimes, music is also played. It is believed that the station began broadcasting in 1975.

The name 'Doomsday' is associated with an unverified legend that this radio station is allegedly linked to Russia's nuclear system 'Perimeter' and emits a signal from the so-called 'Dead Hand', which would trigger a retaliatory nuclear strike if the signal is interrupted as a result of a nuclear attack against Russia.

Music on this frequency is not a new occurrence. In December 2024, the UVB-76 broadcast featured the song 'I Am Russian' by SHAMAN, the Soviet anthem, and a fragment of 'Swan Lake'.
