The design of Windows 11 does not allow for the addition of many features from Windows 10 to the operating system (OS). This is reported by Windows Latest.
Media journalists have noted user complaints about the absence of certain features from Windows 10 in the new OS from Microsoft. In particular, users do not have the ability to move the taskbar to the top or side — it is firmly fixed at the bottom. According to specialists from the publication, this is due to technical limitations of Windows 11.
The article states that the taskbar issue is not the only one, but it is indicative and demonstrates the degradation of the OS. Journalists referenced Tali Roth, the director of Windows Core Experiences, who explained back in April 2022 that Windows 11 does not have such technical capability. The new OS was built from scratch, and it did not use the old code from Windows 10.
Roth also noted that Windows 11 users are generally satisfied with the traditional placement of the taskbar. To this, the journalists from Windows Latest countered that in the "Microsoft Feedback Center," the topic of returning the taskbar from Windows 10 is one of the most requested — nearly 25,000 users voted for it.
"New features make the taskbar more complicated than ever, and the engineering efforts required for the taskbar to be movable to the sides or upwards are practically unfeasible for the company," the journalists concluded.
