Android smartphone users were urged to install the security update.

Journalists from ZDNet reported on the release of a security patch for Android that addresses over a hundred vulnerabilities. The material is available on the media's website.

The authors reminded that in early December, Google engineers announced that they had found 107 vulnerabilities in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) ecosystem. These affected all versions of the operating system (OS), from Android 13 to Android 16. On December 5, it became known that Google had prepared and released an update to fix the issues and bugs.

Experts explained that some vulnerabilities are serious, and two of them — CVE-2025-48633 and CVE-2025-48572 — received a high severity rating. In particular, they were noted by employees of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). In this regard, Android users were urged to download the update and install the patch as soon as possible.

In conclusion, journalists explained that critical vulnerabilities typically affect the Android kernel. "An attacker exploiting any of them could gain higher privileges or access to the compromised device, allowing them to take control of it," the specialists emphasized.
