On Saturday, the movement of passenger electric trains in Latvia is affected by the icing of the overhead contact network, causing many trains to be delayed.
As reported by the representative of "Pasažieru vilciens" Sigita Paula, the delays mainly affect the Tukums and Saulkrasti lines, where freezing rain causes constant icing and significantly hampers train movement.
She emphasized that "Vivi" is trying to minimize delays, and diesel trains will be deployed on several routes.
Passengers are advised to follow information on operational changes in the train schedule through the "Vivi Latvija" mobile app or on the website "vivi.lv".
"Vivi" reminds passengers that in case of a delay or cancellation of a flight, they can receive a refund for their ticket or compensation for expenses incurred while using alternative transport. Claims can be submitted electronically on the "vivi.lv" website, at the "Vivi" customer service center, or at the ticket office.
