NASA: Earth may become uninhabitable by the year 1,000,002,021. This is assuming no other catastrophe or nuclear war occurs before that.
In about a billion years (by the year 1,000,002,021), Earth may become uninhabitable. A group of Japanese scientists, working in collaboration with NASA, shared their calculations on how much time is left until the end for all life on the planet.
They predict that the brightness and temperature of the Sun will gradually increase, leading to the evaporation of oceans and the destruction of Earth's atmosphere.
According to the researchers, the devastating effects of excessive solar activity could manifest on the planet much sooner. For instance, extreme solar storms could cause sharp changes in the composition of the atmosphere, including reducing oxygen levels, which would make the Earth's surface almost lifeless.
One solution to the problem could be the creation of autonomous closed ecosystems and the search for habitable planets beyond the Solar System. NASA specialists believe that technological progress will provide ways to protect against the Sun and postpone the time when life on Earth ceases to exist.
