90-Year-Old American Ann Krail Esselstyn set a world record by hanging on a bar for 2 minutes and 52 seconds, earning her a place in the Guinness World Records.
A woman who has been involved in sports since childhood and tried her hand at about ten disciplines only set her first record at the age of 90. She surpassed the achievement of the previous record holder, who was 81 years old.
According to Esselstyn herself, she spent only a month preparing. Her son inspired her to attempt a fitness challenge involving hanging on a bar. On her first try, she managed to hold on for over a minute, and then decided to train specifically for the record.
During her first attempt in front of the Guinness World Records committee, she achieved a time of 2 minutes and 41 seconds. However, the judges asked her to repeat the exercise due to her leg movements. After half an hour, the woman improved her result to 2 minutes and 52 seconds, which allowed the record to be officially recognized.
