Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the vacant spots in the Brazil national team for the 2026 World Cup

Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that he has only four or five free spots left in the final roster ahead of the official announcement for the 2026 World Cup.

"There are four or five free spots, in this sense we have many doubts. That's why I called players that I don't know very well. I need one defender, two in midfield, and two more in attack. The competition is very high. The team is lucky that the players are very talented.

Brazilian football has never lacked full-backs; we have had fantastic players, but there is currently a shortage in this position. I have no problem using a center-back as a full-back.

The most important thing for the team is balance. If you have a winger who actively supports the attack, you don't need a full-back who attacks just as actively. Militao played very well in that position against Senegal, and Marquinhos did it too. In this squad, I want to test Ibanez. We can find players who will help the team achieve a good balance on the field," Ancelotti said, as reported by ESPN.

Currently, the Brazil national team is in the USA, where they will play a friendly match against France on March 26, and on April 1, the Brazilians will face the Croatian team.
