Latvian Alpine Skiers, Biathletes, and Skiers Compete at the Olympic Games

Today at the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina, Latvian athletes will compete in alpine skiing in the women's slalom, in biathlon in the women's relay, and in the team sprint in cross-country skiing, reports LETA.

At 10:45 Latvian time, Kitija Auziņa and Patricija Eiduka will compete in the qualification of the team sprint in Val di Fiemme, while Raimo Vigaņts and Lauris Kaparkaļe will start their qualification at 11:15. The final competitions will take place two hours later.

Meanwhile, at 11:00 in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Jennifer Germane and Liene Bondare will participate in the first run of the slalom, starting with numbers 17 and 67 among 95 participants. The athletes will complete the second course at 14:30.

The last start of the day will take place in Antholz at 15:45, when Baiba Bendika, Estere Volfa, Sanita Buliņa, and Anniya Keita Sabule will compete in the 4x6 kilometer relay in biathlon. The Latvian biathletes have participated in Olympic relays twice and finished in 18th place both times, the last being in 2010 in Vancouver.

The Olympic Games competitions are broadcast live by the LTV7 channel.

Latvia has won two medals at these Olympic Games: silver in luge by Elina Ieva Bota and bronze in short track by Roberts Krūzbergs.

The Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina will last until February 22.
