Latvia defeated Germany in the third round of the Olympics with a score of 4-3.
At the beginning of the third minute of the first period, German player Lukas Reichel opened the scoring in the match. The Latvia national team equalized thanks to Dāns Lochmelis. Germany ended the first period as the leader, with Lukas Kälble scoring. The Latvians then scored three goals by Lochmelis, Eduards Tralmaks, and Renārs Krastenbergs. Tim Stützle scored the third goal for Germany with two and a half minutes left in the match.
Thanks to this victory, Latvia moved into second place in Group C. They have three points from two matches.
The Olympic hockey tournament is taking place from February 11 to 22. The reigning champion is the Finland national team, which defeated the Russians 2-1 in the final of the 2022 Olympics.
