Canadian forward Nathan MacKinnon scored a goal assisted by Connor McDavid in the Olympic match against the Czechs (5:0).
According to the NHL website, this is the first instance at the Olympics where the two leading scorers in the NHL at the time of the Olympic break collaborated on a goal.
McDavid and MacKinnon lead the NHL scoring race, with 96 and 93 points respectively.
The men's hockey tournament at the 2026 Olympics takes place from February 11 to 22. For the first time in 12 years, NHL players are participating in the competition.
In their next match at the 2026 Olympics, Team Canada will face the Swiss national team. The match will take place on February 13, starting at 22:10.
