The world’s number one player from Belarus and four-time Grand Slam champion Arina Sobolenko ranks second in prize money earned throughout her career.
In the updated WTA ranking as of January 12, Sobolenko has a total of $45,397,966 in prize money.
At the top, by a wide margin, is the legendary American Serena Williams ($94,816,730).
In third place is the world’s second-ranked player, Polish Iga Swiatek ($44,127,390), followed by Venus Williams ($42,868,374).
In fifth place is Romania's Simona Halep ($40,236,618), in sixth is another Belarusian, Victoria Azarenka ($38,890,473), and in seventh is Russian Maria Sharapova ($38,777,962).
Sobolenko set a record last season for the most prize money earned in a single year of competition — $15,008,519. In the new season, she has already won the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane.
