How the Famous Tiger Woods Overcame Sex Addiction, Pills, and Trump's Blessing

The legendary Tiger Woods has just celebrated his half-century anniversary. The golfer has made a name for himself both in sports and beyond. He has won 15 majors, become the richest athlete in the world, but has also been embroiled in loud scandals: he sought treatment for sex addiction and overindulged in pills to numb the pain from numerous surgeries.

Now he spends more time in treatment than playing. However, he leads a happy personal life with Trump's former daughter-in-law, Vanessa. Forbes estimates Woods' net worth at €1.3 billion.

Tiger Woods' Achievements in Golf

The current year 2026 marks the 30th year of Tiger's professional sports career. In 1996, Woods began his career and signed with Nike right at the start. Within a year, he soared to the top of the world rankings, won his first major in 1997, and in 2000-2001, he achieved the famous "Tiger Slam" – winning all four major tournaments consecutively. This achievement has yet to be matched.

For over 10 years, he remained the number one golfer in the world. Tiger basked in the glory, lucrative contracts, and records. Besides his dominance in golf, in 2002 he became the richest athlete in the world and held that title for over 10 years. In 2022, Woods officially became a billionaire.

He has 15 major victories to his name. The last one occurred in 2019 and was the result of overcoming numerous scandals that began to haunt Tiger in 2009.

Scandal with His Wife

Tiger Woods was considered a model husband and father. He had two children with his wife, Elin Nordegren. But in 2009, a massive scandal erupted. The golfer should have known how terrifying women can be when angry...

His wife found out about Woods' correspondence with his mistress and threw a fit, attacking the cheater and scratching his face with her nails. He couldn't stand the harassment, ran out into the street, and got into his car while Elin chased him with a golf club.

The escape, however, did not succeed. Woods lost control and crashed into a tree, hitting a fire hydrant and a neighbor's fence along the way. To top it off, his wife smashed the rear window of the car, confirming her victory in the marital duel.

But the worst was yet to come for Tiger.

The golfer's infidelity turned out to be no one-time affair. The womanizer secretly had affairs with over a hundred girls, slept with prostitutes, and threw large orgies. In short, he denied himself nothing. The scandal turned into a reality show, with new mistresses sequentially burying Woods' brilliant career. The golfer even had to call a press conference where he apologized to his wife and announced a hiatus from his career to fix his personal life.

There was little to fix after that. Of course, the marriage soon fell apart, and Woods owed his ex-wife €100 million. They did not part ways on that path. Tiger and Elin strive to care for their children together. But as they say, a grudge remains.

Woods even had to work on his problem and seek treatment for sex addiction. The promiscuous encounters ceased, but Tiger still sank into a deep depression. The word "reputation" could no longer be used in the context of Woods. All his sponsors, who made him the richest athlete in the world, left him. Only Nike remained.

His first major victory after the nightmare in his personal life would not come until 2019. In honor of the triumph, Donald Trump held a ceremonial reception for Woods at the White House.

How Woods Suffered from Injuries

After the loud scandals, Tiger also began to suffer from constant injuries.

Since 2014, he has undergone a total of seven back surgeries. His knee was also a concern. He was prescribed pills to manage the pain. To minimize the effects of the injuries and regain normal sleep, he overdid the dosages. In 2017, under the influence of the medications, he fell asleep at the wheel, and when he woke up, he remained disoriented for some time.

In 2021, Woods was involved in an accident and miraculously survived. He was driving at high speed, failed to navigate a turn, and went off the road. The car flipped over, and Tiger couldn't get out of it on his own. Rescue workers had to assist him.

The golfer underwent a complicated surgery and returned to golf once again. In 2025, he underwent his seventh back surgery, and in March of that same year, he went under the knife after tearing his Achilles tendon.

And still, the aging legend does not plan to end his career just yet. In 2024, in a statement about the end of his long-term partnership with Nike, Woods made it clear that he does not intend to stop. After the injuries in 2025, only words about rehabilitation and intentions to return were heard.

Who Tiger Woods is Dating

Currently, the golfer's beloved is Vanessa Trump – Donald Trump's former daughter-in-law.

She was married to the president's son, and they had five children together. The union ended in 2018. Now Vanessa is dating Woods.

Woods personally informed Trump about his romance. The president supported the choice: "Tiger, that's very good. I'm very happy for both of you."

The golfer is head over heels for his beloved: "Love is in the air, and life gets better when you are with me! We look forward to our journey together in life. During this time, we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts."
