Florida Panthers held a ceremonial event in honor of Brad Marchand's 1000 points in NHL regular season.
The event took place before the home game against the Montreal Canadiens (2–3 OT). The 37-year-old player and his family were invited to the center of the rink, where the forward was awarded a personalized golden stick.
"I am very grateful to the organization for everything they have done for me and my family. Not just today, but throughout the year. I feel very lucky to be part of this group," Marchand said.
The forward is in his second season with Florida and has scored 49 points for them in the regular season. He spent 16 seasons with Boston and accumulated 976 points.
