Nadal: “Coaching doesn’t fit into my life right now”

22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal stated that he is not currently planning to work as a coach.

“Coaching doesn’t fit into my life right now. Becoming the captain of the national team for the Davis Cup someday? Why not? I might like it, or I might not. I just recently retired. It’s still too early to think about that. I respect the life processes and adaptation. Now is not the time to think about it,” Nadal said, as reported by AS.

The 39-year-old Spaniard also noted that he is not ready for constant travel to tournaments yet, as he wants to spend more time with his family.

Nadal ended his professional career in the fall of 2024.

The Spanish tennis player has 22 Grand Slam singles titles to his name, including a record 14 victories at Roland Garros. Nadal has won 92 titles in his career and held the number one spot in the ATP rankings for 209 weeks.
