The Frenchman converted a penalty in the 86th minute of the match in the 17th round of La Liga against Sevilla (2:0). This is his 59th accurate shot for Real Madrid in 2025.
Thus, Mbappé matched Ronaldo's achievement: in 2013, Cristiano also scored 59 goals while wearing the jersey of the 'royal club'.
Additionally, 27-year-old Kylian had a chance to surpass the record. However, in the 90th minute, the referee canceled the previously awarded penalty after VAR intervention.
In the La Liga standings, Real Madrid is in second place with 42 points.
