Pedri Sets New Barcelona Record, Surpassing Lionel Messi's Achievement

Barcelona midfielder Pedri has reached the milestone of 150 official matches in the Spanish championship for the Catalan club.

According to Opta.

As reported by the source, the milestone game took place during the 16th round of La Liga: on December 13, the 23-year-old Spaniard started in the match against Osasuna, which ended with a 2-0 victory for the Blaugrana.

This match was significant for Pedri — he became the youngest player in Barcelona's history to play 150 matches in La Liga. In doing so, he surpassed Lionel Messi's achievement set back in 2010.

The Argentine played his 150th match in the Spanish championship at the age of 23 years and 121 days — this occurred on October 23, 2010, in a game against Zaragoza (2-0). Pedri reached this milestone at 23 years and 18 days.

To reach the 150-match mark in La Liga, the Spanish midfielder needed just over five years. He made his debut for Barcelona in the Spanish championship on September 27, 2020, in a match against Villarreal.
