In the fifth round of the group stage of the Champions League between Olympiacos and Real Madrid (3:4), Real's forward Kylian Mbappe scored four goals. His first three goals, scored before the 29th minute of the match, allowed him to enter the history of this competition.

The hat-trick scored in 29 minutes is the third fastest for any player in Champions League history, following the record of AC Milan forward Marco Simone, who scored three times in 24 minutes against Rosenborg in September 1996, and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski's achievement in the match against Red Bull Salzburg in March 2022 — the Pole scored three times in 23 minutes.

Thanks to his four goals, Kylian Mbappe leads the scoring race in the current Champions League season — the Frenchman has scored 9 goals, while his closest rival, Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray, has 6 goals.
