The Hellenic Olympic Committee has presented the participants of the Olympic flame lighting ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to 22.
The first torchbearer will be Greek skier Alexandros Giannnis. He has been entrusted to receive the torch from the High Priestess during the ceremonial event in Ancient Olympia, which will take place on November 26.
The role of the High Priestess will be performed by Greek actress Mary Mina, and the staging of the traditional sports ritual is being handled by local choreographer Artemis Ignatiou.
After the Olympic flame is lit, the relay will take place across Greece from November 26 to December 4, covering 23 prefectures and 7 regions. The route will conclude at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, where the flame will be handed over to the organizing committee of the 2026 Olympic Games.
