The press service of Greek club Panathinaikos announced the appointment of Champions League winner Rafael Benitez as the head coach of the first team.
Benitez gained wide recognition while managing Valencia, with which he won the Spanish championship twice and triumphed in the UEFA Cup.
From 2004 to 2010, the specialist led Liverpool, which under his guidance won the Champions League in the 2005/06 season.
Benitez's last position was at Celta, which he coached from July 2023 to March 2024. Panathinaikos was previously managed by Rui Vitoria.
