Atletico forward Julian Alvarez is the main candidate to replace forward Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona.
The president of the 'blue and garnet' team, Joan Laporta, wants to see the Argentine at the club, Diario Sport reports.
The departure of the Polish footballer, whose contract expires at the end of the season, will allow Barcelona to reduce their payroll by 26 million euros. Additionally, the club will be relieved from paying amortization fees amounting to 12.5 million euros.
Barcelona expects that the Madrid team is unlikely to consider offers for Alvarez below 200 million euros.
