The Saeima member promises to resubmit the relevant amendments to the Immigration Law.
Member of the Saeima from the currently ruling National Alliance, Arturs Butāns, called on social media platform X for the establishment of limits (quotas) on the entry of citizens from third countries and believes it is time to begin the deportation of illegal migrants. The parliamentarian also promises that his faction will once again attempt to submit the proposals that the Saeima rejected last Thursday. Specifically: a ban on residence permit holders working as registered entrepreneurs, a requirement for foreigners to prove their proficiency in Latvian at the A2 level, and the introduction of quotas for the issuance of residence permits per year.
