The well-known politician and outstanding athlete Mairis Briedis clarified his position regarding the deprivation of one politician's parliamentary mandate in a video interview with bb.lv.
“When I spoke about Latvians, I meant Latvians not in a narrow ethnic sense, but all Latvians, regardless of language. I grew up in a mixed family and have always opposed dividing people by ethnic background and language!” said Mairis Briedis, a member of the Riga City Council and a world-renowned boxer.
Briedis also commented on statements coming from abroad regarding the situation in Latvia. “We will sort things out ourselves in our family in Latvia,” said the well-known politician, member of the Riga City Council, and outstanding athlete Mairis Briedis.
