In the coming hours, an initiative from the deputies expressing no confidence in Evika Silinī may be submitted to the presidium of the Saeima.
A request for a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister can be submitted by at least 10 members of the Saeima. The opposition faction United List has already taken action and collected signatures from its entire faction, which consists of 13 deputies. The corresponding initiative will soon be submitted to the Saeima, and it is likely that tomorrow the deputies will vote in the plenary session to consider this issue during the same plenary session. However, the vote of no confidence may not take place if Prime Minister Evika Silinī submits her resignation to the parliament herself. In this case, it will be considered that the government has resigned but continues to operate until a new government is approved by the parliament. This means that for some time, Silinī will be the acting Prime Minister.
