The leader of the "Progressives" party is not inclined to blame Andris Sprudins.
As reported, on Monday Evika Silina is summoning Andris Sprudins. It is still unknown whether the prime minister will dismiss the Minister of Defense. Notably, the head of the Saeima's National Security Commission, Ainars Latkovskis ("New Unity"), when asked by TV-3 if the Minister of Defense is managing his duties, said: "It is difficult to answer this question. I do not want to lie." In turn, the head of the parliamentary faction "Progressives," Andris Shuvaevs, answered the same question from TV-3: "I believe he is managing. We must remember that Andris Sprudins is the first minister who has to address the challenges related to drones arriving in Latvia. And here, it’s not that we have ready-made recipes and instructions. Everything we do in connection with improving the capabilities of the security and defense sector happens in real time. It is clear that there are shortcomings, there are mistakes. But at this moment, I believe that what we must do politically now is to publicly acknowledge these mistakes, explain them, and do everything possible to avoid them in the future."
