Today at 10:30, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, will meet at the Riga Castle with the head of the action group for reducing bureaucracy, Jānis Endziņš.
The group was established last year by the order of Prime Minister Evika Silina. To date, a number of results have been achieved in the work to reduce bureaucracy, the State Chancellery reported. For example, the timeframes for processing applications have been shortened: starting from March 1, 2026, institutions must respond to people within ten working days.
The construction process for individuals, the registration of limited liability companies, and the administration of European Union projects have been simplified.
As part of the ongoing modernization of public administration, centralization of human resources functions is planned for 2026 and 2027, as well as the creation of a unified system for monitoring the effectiveness of public administration.
