The Prime Minister is ready for radical steps to ensure that the Saeima votes for the loan for airBaltic.
This evening, Prime Minister Evika Silina explained live on LTV's program "Kas notiek Latvijā?" what she meant when she wrote on social media that she is "ready for the coalition to collapse." According to Evika Silina, she can dismiss the Minister of Communications Atis Švinka ("Progressives") if that is the price for the "Greens and Farmers" to vote for the loan, and she may also dismiss one of the ministers from the Union of Greens and Farmers.
It is worth noting that tomorrow at 8:00 AM, the Prime Minister is convening an extraordinary coalition meeting. At this meeting, the fate of the government, the fate of the loan for airBaltic, and... the fate of airBaltic itself may be decided! After all, in the same live broadcast, a document from the State Audit Office was shown, stating that due to the current financial situation, "the existence of airBaltic is under threat!"
