The partners' response to the 'alternative' proposal from the Union of Greens and Farmers will be known later today.
Members of the Saeima from the Union of Greens and Farmers have not yet decided after meetings with the Minister of Transport and the Prime Minister whether to support the provision of a €30 million loan to airBaltic. However, the 'Green Farmers' have come up with their own plan to save or stabilize the situation at the national airline. As far as can be understood, this plan is a condition for granting the loan. In other words, if the partners support this plan, the 'Green Farmers' will vote in favor of granting the loan in return. The details of the plan are not yet disclosed. It is only known that for its discussion, the 'Progressives' are convening the party board today.
Rumor has it that the plan involves a possible restructuring of the national airline and the introduction of an austerity regime. Meanwhile, it cannot be ruled out that the loan issue will still be brought up for discussion at the Saeima's budget committee tomorrow.
