"I have always been against mass immigration! I have now submitted a proposal to completely suspend the issuance of new residence permits. I will advocate for this and other proposals to limit immigration, despite objections from ineffective entrepreneurs.

The leadership of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry openly lobbies for mass immigration - they oppose halting immigration, oppose proper study of the Latvian language, and oppose restrictions for foreign students to work. Do all members of the LCCI support this?

Several state institutions and responsible ministries were aware of various schemes used by immigrants to circumvent the requirements of Latvian laws - they did not come forward with initiatives to stop these schemes, but at the same time rejected the proposals of deputies to prevent mass immigration," the parliamentarian expressed indignation.
