The former head of the State Chancellery turned out to be the only accused in the so-called "plane case."
Very soon, the trial for the so-called "plane case" will begin. Let us remind you that after Krisjanis Karins ceased to be the Prime Minister and took over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it became clear that during his tenure, he used private jets (charter flights) for official trips 32 times - the total cost of such flights exceeded 1 million.
The KNAB (Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau) began an investigation and it turned out that the only one "appointed" as guilty is the now former head of the State Chancellery, Janis Citskovskis. This evening, in an interview with the TV-3 program Nekā personīga, the former chief official of the country admitted that for several months, the KNAB wiretapped all his phone conversations. Citskovskis does not consider himself guilty: he could not influence the decisions of the Prime Minister and his bureau staff regarding the organization of flights.
According to Citskovskis, he was pressured - both by Karins' bureau staff and the current Prime Minister Silins - to take responsibility for everything himself, thereby shielding both Karins and his bureau staff from scrutiny. "And we will sort everything out later," the staff of the Prime Minister's bureau allegedly promised Citskovskis.
