A new tender for waste management services for a period of seven years has been announced in Riga, according to information published in the electronic procurement system, LETA reports.
Applications for the open competition can be submitted until April 21.
The procurement, as before, is divided into four parts — by waste service areas. Unlike the current situation, the boundaries of the zones have been slightly changed and aligned with the boundaries of the neighborhoods.
According to information published on the portal "georiga.lv", starting from 2027, the northern part of Pardaugava will become the first waste service area. It includes the neighborhoods of Bullu, Daugavgriva, Bolderaja, Kleisti, Voleri, Spilve, Ilguciems, Imanta, Dzirciems, Zasulauks, and Kipsala.
The second zone includes Mangalsala, Vecaki, Trisciem, Vecdaugava, Vecmilgravis, Milgravis, Jaunciems, Kundzinshala, Sarkandaugava, Mezaparks, Chiekurkalns, Suzi, Bukulti, Bergi, Brekshi, Jugla, Mezciems, Dreilini, Purvciems, Teika, Brasa, Skante, Petersala-Andreisala, and Skante.
The third zone includes Bebraubeki, Mukupurvs, Zolitude, Shampeteris, Pleskodale, Agenskalns, Tornakalns, Bierini, Atgazene, Ziepniekkalns, Salas, Bishumuyza, and Katlakalns.
The fourth zone includes the Center, the Old Town, Grizinkalns, Avoti, Latgale, Darzciems, Plavnieki, Shkirotava, Kengarags, Rumbula, and Darzini.
One applicant can apply for waste management services in three parts.
The competition will evaluate the price proposed by the applicants per contract for one cubic meter of unsorted household waste, the price for one cubic meter of biological waste, the total amount of fees for additional services, as well as the price for one cubic meter of construction waste generated in households.
The contract is set to last for 84 months.
According to information from the LETA agency archive, the previous waste management competition was completed, and contracts with entrepreneurs were signed in 2020. They will be valid until February 2027.
Currently, waste collection in Riga is provided by "Clean R", LLC "Lautus vide", and LLC "Eco Baltia vide".
