The deputies propose to support families with children not just in words, but in action.
At the upcoming meeting of the Saeima, amendments from the opposition faction "Latvia First" to the Personal Income Tax Law will be considered. The parliamentarians propose, in order to improve the demographic situation, to exempt (not collect) personal income tax from one of the working parents if there are two or more minor children in the family or if the children (up to 24 years old) continue their studies. This provision is proposed to be introduced starting next year.
The chances that this bill will be supported by the ruling majority are close to zero.
