Latvia's result in the updated Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), published by the international anti-corruption organization Transparency International, improved by one point to 60, LETA reports.
Thus, among 182 countries, Latvia ranks 37th, according to the data released by the organization.
Meanwhile, Estonia maintained its score of 76 points and holds the 12th position. Lithuania, compared to the previous year, rose two places to 65 points, ranking 28th.
As previously reported, over the past ten years, Latvia's score has fluctuated between 55 and 60 points, showing no stable long-term growth. A year ago, in 2024, Latvia's result decreased by one point to 59, returning to the levels of 2021 and 2022.
Latvia's CPI in 2023 was 60 points, in 2022 and 2021 it was 59, in 2020 it was 57, in 2019 it was 56, and in 2018 and 2017 it was 58 points. In previous years, the score was lower.
The Corruption Perceptions Index allows for the assessment of a country's progress in combating corruption and compares its results with 182 countries worldwide. The index uses a scale from 0 (high level of corruption) to 100 (lowest level of corruption).
