"The woodworking issue" could sink the entire team of Evika Silina.
As previously reported, Prime Minister Evika Silina today did not rule out that in light of the developments in the scandal regarding support for woodworking companies, the question of the resignation of Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze may arise. According to rumors from the corridors of power, if Silina indeed attempts to express no confidence in Krauze, who is one of the leaders of the Union of Greens and Farmers, then the 'green farmers' will immediately demand the dismissal of Minister of Transport Atis Švinka from the 'Progressives' party for the pointless installation of piles on the Daugava and the senseless construction at the airport as part of the Rail Baltica project.
This evening, Armands Krauze stated in an interview with Latvian TV that if he is to be dismissed for the decision of the entire government regarding support for woodworkers, then the entire government should resign.
If the government survived the saga of the Istanbul Convention, it may not survive the current scandal.
